Stakeholder Management requires the identification of key stakeholders for a change initiative, the agreement of the required engagement with them, the agreement of the communications they require to support the engagement and then the execution of those agreements.
Key stakeholders are those who will:
- Participate in the delivery of a portfolio, programme or project
- Contribute expertise to or certification of the delivery
- Facilitate the delivery to the wider organisation or the wider world
- Be the recipient of the benefits and/or solutions delivered
- Be impacted by the portfolio, programme or project execution or delivery.
Stakeholder management should be seen as an on-going process across all initiatives and one that is inherently linked to the delivery life cycle and governance controls.
